Matthew Brown

Director | Physiotherapist

 

Matt is the Owner and Director of PhysioFit. He is a qualified APA Physiotherapist with a post-graduate Masters of Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland, as well as undergraduate degrees in Human Movements and Education. Matt is also a member of the Sports Physiotherapists Group of the APA.

 

Matt’s focus is on providing the highest level diagnostic and treatment skills to patients – not only allowing for optimal recovery and management of injuries but also injury prevention and optimising sports performance. He currently works closely with several of the sporting programs at one of Australia’s top sporting nurseries – The Southport School (TSS) assisting their athletes reach optimal sporting potential and return to training and competition as quickly and safely as possible after injury.

 

Matt also works with several club Rugby squads and has provided physiotherapy services to the Australian Rugby Union (ARU) for their Schoolboy Teams, National Junior Gold Cup and School’s Sevens Programs.

 

Matt has been the team physiotherapist for the Gold Coast Blaze NBL and Gold Coast Titans NRL teams and has provided physiotherapy services to the Queensland Schoolboy Rugby Union teams since 2005.

Bec Chambers

Clinical Manager | Physiotherapist

 

Bec grew up in Canberra and completed a Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Canberra. She has a Graduate Diploma in Human Movement Science and a Bachelor of Medical Science. Bec is a current member of the APA.

 

Bec moved to the Gold Coast at the start of 2011 and started work with us at PhysioFit. She has further qualifications in Pilates, dry needling and dynamic taping. Bec has provided physiotherapy services to the Canberra Boys Grammar Rugby team and the Australian Equestrian Team. She currently works with the TSS Rugby and Aquatic programs.

 

Bec works closely with a number of GP’s on the Gold Coast and runs PhysioFit’s clinic at the Bundall Medical Centre.

 

Outside work Bec likes to run, swim and weight train, and when time permits go for the occasional horse ride.

Andrew Chambers

Senior Physiotherapist

 

Andrew has been a physiotherapist for 12 years. He completed a Master of Physiotherapy at the University of Canberra, and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise & Sport Science) at the University of Sydney.

 

As a clinician, Andrew likes to use a “hands on” approach combined with targeted exercise prescription to achieve the best possible outcomes for his patients. He is experienced in treating a range of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions including neck and back pain and sporting injuries.

 

It is worth noting that Andrew has a particular interest and additional training in the field of strength and conditioning and relishes the opportunity to help patients achieve their fitness and strength-related goals.

Beth Perrett

Physiotherapist

 

Beth joined us at PhysioFit in 2020. She completed her Masters in Physiotherapy at the University of Canberra in 2012. Beth has worked in several musculoskeletal practices in Bathurst and Sydney and has further qualifications in Dry Needling and Acupuncture, Strength and Conditioning, Pilates Equipment and has completed her Sports Level 1.

Beth has experience in treating a range of sports, musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. She especially enjoys working with the older population, ensuring appropriate treatment with a focus on improving function and preventing further injuries.

Beth is also a keen long distant runner. She loves treating fellow runners and understands the discipline, training and injury management required for those who run.

Outside of work Beth enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and 3 energetic boys!

Annie Rice

Practice Manager

 

Annie has completed a Bachelor degree in Exercise Science and Secondary Education. She is currently completing an honours degree in Psychology.

 

Annie joined the team at PhysioFit in April 2013. She has a particular interest in Sports Psychology, peak performance and the psychological barriers to injury rehabilitation. She enjoys a healthy lifestyle and her interests include cycling and her daily gym workouts.

Darren Gaffney

Podiatrist

 

Darren Gaffney is an experienced member of the Gold Coast Foot Centre Team. He has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic pain resulting from injuries sustained in sport and other physical activities.

 

Whether you’re a gym junkie, weekend warrior, junior or elite athlete, if you’re experiencing foot or lower limb pain, a consultation with Darren is a great place to start. He can give advice on the best footwear for you, can prescribe and fit orthotics if needed, and discuss any ongoing treatment needs with your physiotherapist or massage therapist. He is currently available at PhysioFit on Fridays.
